All our votes passed unanimously.
The highlight was our having the chance thank Barbara, our longtime and outgoing moderator, for her faithfulness to the life of the church and its enduring witness to the love and faithfulness of God. She endured through times of change, conflict, and loss. Her way of standing in Christ while chaos whirled around her is a revelation to us all about how to be an abode for God's good will.
Here's a note she wrote in response to our celebrating her and giving her a gift certificate to The Bookstore:
Dear Church on the Hill Family,
You overwhelmed me with your generous gift; there is nothing I like more than browsing for books!
Thank you all for your support during my tenure as your Moderator. You have given me your confidence and faith and I will be forever grateful.
I wish you all a blessed new year- Onward and Upward!
