Individualism and Moral Imagination

A recent article in the New York Times felt to me (this is Liz writing) like one more reminder of what the church is to stand in contrast to. American individualism has become self-destructive, but it's so powerful a frame of mind that it continues to hold sway.

As the ancient church continues to bear witness amidst a changing world, the relevance of that witness is ever renewed. Read the article and then consider the story the church tells as a balm for the wounds of individualism, isolation, and declining prospects for wellbeing. We are a gathered body because no part can be healthy on its own.

The library built when citizens acted together.
