E-word - the second week of Advent

Advent candles

The nights grow longer as we move more deeply into Advent - which means we see all the more clearly the flickering light of God's presence. Praise the darkness, praise the candles (real or electric or battery-operated), praise the waiting, and praise the hope for Messiah!

In worship on Sunday, 11 December we will ask God's blessing on our financial pledges to the ministry and mission of Church on the Hill in 2017. If you have submitted your pledge, thank you. If you plan to bring it to worship, thank you. If you can't be with us on Sunday and you plan to mail in your pledge, thank you. If you haven't yet considered a pledge: it's not too late, and no amount is too small (or too large) - and your church thanks you.

There is still time to purchase the poinsettias that will adorn the sanctuary for Christmas. Order forms are available in the Chapel office or in the worship bulletin, or you may call Carol Powell (413-442-1057) to place your order before December 18th.
